Antoine I de la Drière

L’orfèvrerie en Hainaut. Mons, Ath, Tournai, Tielt, 1985, p. 171.
Antoine de la Drière was specialized in producing small folding cutlery, about twenty of which have survived to this day. This beautiful chalice shows that the master also assumed more important orders.
The very nicely openworked fake bowl is decorated with six medallions decorated with putti featuring the instruments of the Passion.
