Description

There are few surviving Antwerp examples and this pair is distinguished by a very elegant engraved decoration, composed of rococo elements, cartouches and birds.
The motif of Indian heads on the spout is particularly rare in Antwerp silverware. It is most often found used as an ornament for the pouring spouts of coffee pots made in Brussels or Bruges from the 1740s onwards.
